Browser (Chrome) Extensions
Custom browser extensions build productivity, scrape data, or automate web tasks directly in the client. We build secure, Manifest V3 compliant Chrome extensions, side panels, and content injection scripts that load instantly and perform without crashing.
What you get
- Manifest V3 compliant Chrome extensions
- Service workers, content scripts, and side panels
- DeclarativeNetRequest API rule configurations
- Chrome Web Store listing preparation and publishing support
How we deliver.
A structured engagement from discovery to deployment — no surprises, no scope fog.
Extension architecture & permissions audit
We define the minimal permission set needed, choose between content scripts, service workers, and side panels, and design the data flow between extension components.
UI/UX design for constrained surfaces
Extension UIs have strict space and interaction constraints. We design popups, side panels, and injected elements that feel native to the browser — not like a shrunken web app.
Manifest V3 implementation
We build with Chrome's latest API standards — service workers instead of background pages, DeclarativeNetRequest instead of webRequestBlocking, and chrome.storage for state persistence.
Cross-browser compatibility
We test and adapt for Chrome, Edge (Chromium-based), and optionally Firefox — handling API differences and polyfills where needed.
Chrome Web Store publishing
We prepare store assets, write listing descriptions, handle the review process, and set up automated builds for future updates.
Where this applies.
CRM lead capture sidebars
A side panel that lets sales reps capture leads from LinkedIn, company websites, or emails directly into your CRM — with one-click enrichment and note-taking.
Content moderation & review tools
Extensions that highlight, flag, and annotate web content for editorial, compliance, or QA teams — overlaying tools directly on the pages being reviewed.
Productivity & workflow automation
Browser-based automation that fills forms, extracts data from web apps, or triggers backend workflows — replacing manual copy-paste between tabs.
Web scraping & data extraction
Content scripts that extract structured data from web pages (product listings, job postings, social profiles) into spreadsheets or databases on a schedule.
Technical depth.
Manifest V3 service workers
Event-driven service workers that wake on demand and shut down when idle — memory-efficient and compliant with Chrome's latest performance requirements.
Content Script isolation
Injected scripts run in an isolated world — accessing page DOM without interfering with the host page's JavaScript or being affected by its CSP policies.
Chrome Side Panel API
Persistent side panels that stay open across tab navigation — ideal for tools that need to maintain context while the user browses.
Secure message passing
Structured message channels between content scripts, service workers, and popup/side panel UIs — with origin validation and typed message schemas.
Common questions.
Q.What's the difference between Manifest V2 and V3?
V3 replaces persistent background pages with event-driven service workers, requires declarative net request rules instead of blocking APIs, and enforces stricter permission models. All new extensions must use V3.
Q.Can you migrate my V2 extension to V3?
Yes. We handle the migration — converting background scripts to service workers, replacing deprecated APIs, and testing the migrated extension for feature parity.
Q.How do you handle Chrome Web Store rejections?
We've navigated the review process extensively. We pre-audit against common rejection reasons (overly broad permissions, missing privacy policy) and handle appeal correspondence.
Q.Can the extension work in Edge and Firefox?
Edge (Chromium) usually works out of the box. Firefox requires a separate manifest and some API adaptations — we handle both when cross-browser support is needed.
